Coverage the Government provides for your relocation

Your Household Goods Policy

  • Your Government Agency provides you with Full Replacement Value Coverage.

  • Based on the weight of your shipment, a maximum amount of coverage is provided. Please ask your Planes Relocation Counselor for the maximum amount for your shipment.

  • If you feel the maximum amount is not enough, you can purchase additional coverage through us prior to your move dates however this expense will not be paid by your Government Agency. The cost is $8.50 for every $1,000 you declare over the maximum amount plus if you go into storage there is a charge of $1.80 for every $1,000 you declare over the maximum amount per month you are in storage. For details please ask your Planes Relocation Counselor.

  • Whatever amount you declare for your household goods will be the maximum settlement should there be a catastrophe and total loss of your shipment.

  • We are responsible for any damages or loss caused by carrier neglect and filed with the carrier in writing within 75 days of delivery of your goods.

  • Full Replacement Valuation compensates you for the repair or replacement, whichever is the lesser amount, of a damaged item.

  • Items that are verified as missing are compensated at the current replacement cost for the same item, if available, or the current replacement or similar model.

Your Automobile Policy

  • Claim settlement on items not listed on the High Value Inventory will be limited to a maximum payment of $100 per pound.

  • Should a high value item be damaged or lost in the move, documentation of value, original receipt, or current appraisal may be required to prior to receiving compensation.
