Weight Entitlement
-
If you are a Civilian employee the
Government authorizes you to ship up to 18,000 pounds.
-
If you are a Commissioned Employee, your
weight entitlement is determined by your rank and if you have any
dependents (See Chart Below). If the weight of your household goods
exceeds this limit, the Government will charge you back for the additional
cost. See Chart Below for Commissioned Employees weight entitlement.

Currently, only Commissioned Employees are entitled to reduce their total weight by 10% for packing material.
-
If either Commissioned or Civilian Employees
go over their weight entitlement your Government Agency will charge you
back the additional cost. To determine your additional cost please speak
with your Planes Relocation Counselor.
-
Both Commissioned and Civilian Employees are
entitled to move Professional Books & Equipment (PB&E). The weight of the
PB&E will not count against the weight entitlement.
-
If you have PB&E you must seek approval by your agency. it is strongly suggested
that you have these items clearly separated from the rest of your
household goods prior to the packers and driver arriving at your
residence. When they do arrive, point out these items so that they can be
packed and inventoried separately. Please make sure that the box and the
inventory are marked PB&E.
