Shipping a Vehicle
Getting your Vehicle Ready

No obvious fluid leaks.

Vehicle must be clean for origin physical inspection.

Gas tank level should be at ¼ of a tank or lower.

Disconnect or disable alarm systems.

Portable stereo equipment, cassette decks or CD players, car phones,
garage door openers, and E-Z pass should be removed.

Antennas should be fully retracted or removed.

No personal belongings (except standard vehicle items; i.e. jack and spare
tire)

Remove exterior spare tire cover, grill covers, or car covers.

Plants and hazardous materials are forbidden by law to be transported.

Provide one set of ALL keys for the vehicle to the mover.

Remove non-permanent luggage, bike, or ski racks.

Prepare vehicle for the new climate. This may include engine coolant,
transmission oil, and other fluids.
Vehicle Inspection Requirements

You, or your assigned representatives, must be present for inspection at
pickup and delivery.

You must sign the bill of lading and condition report at origin and
destination.

You are responsible for confirming that vehicle’s condition is the same as
when it was picked up. You must do this before the delivery driver leaves.

If damaged, you MUST write a clear description on the auto inventory form.

Damages not documented on the inventory form at the time of delivery will
result in the denial of a claim.
Coverage for your Vehicle

Your Government agency provides coverage on your automobile at Blue Book
Value.

need to enter the Year, Make, Model, destination Zip Code, and the miles
on your vehicle. If you have any questions regarding the value of your
vehicle please contact your Planes Relocation Counselor.

In the event of damage, contact your Planes Relocation Counselor to
request a claim form.
