Moving Policy

 

Planes Moving & Storage was selected by your company to service your relocation. It is our responsibility to explain your employer’s relocation policy. Any special services you require during your move process must be authorized directly through your Planes Counselor, according to your company’s policy.

 

What moving services the Government will pay for:

  • Packing

  • Loading

  • Delivering

  • Unpacking, no maid service

  • Storage up to 60/90 days

  • Up to 18,000 lbs. if you are a Civilian Employee. If you are a Commissioned Employee then your weight entitlement is dependent upon your rank. (See Weight Entitlement page)

  • Full Replacement Coverage

 

Moving services that need to be authorized by your Government Agency:

  • Any Additional pick-ups or deliveries, in the origin or destination city.

  • Any boat that is able to fit inside a moving truck, i.e. canoes or boats that do not exceed 8 feet in width. However there is a weight additive that will count against your weight entitlement. Please contact your Planes Relocation Counselor to find out what the additive is.

  • Automobiles

  • Storage over 60/90 days.

  • Carton Deliveries

  • Debris Removal in lieu of unpacking

  • Crating of any high value articles.

  • Servicing of any articles in your residence, e.g. Grandfather Clocks, Waterbeds, Pool Tables, Hot Tubs, Exercise Equipment, Swing Sets, etc.

  • Partial Delivery out of Storage

Moving services that are not authorized by your Government Agency:

  • Pulling your belongings out of the attic, disassembling or reassembling any items required to load properly in the truck or get out of the home, e.g. waterbeds, basketball hoops, satellite dishes, swing sets, playhouses, etc.

  • Disconnecting anything permanently attached to the premise. This includes anything that is bolted or screwed in the walls, e.g. mirrors, shelving units, icemaker lines and washer/dryers.

  • Access of storage lot

  • Packing, Loading or delivering your items on a Saturday or Sunday.

  • Moving belongings from temporary residence to permanent residence.

  • Boats that can not fit inside the trailer - greater than 8 feet wide.

  • Storage over 150/180 days.
